What the free check looks at
Vendrail loads your shop's public pages the way a customer's browser would, and reports what it actually saw. Nothing is added to a basket, and nothing is submitted.
HTTPS certificate valid
Reads your certificate and reports the days left. An expired one shows shoppers a security warning.
Storefront loads
Requests your homepage and records the HTTP status your customers would receive.
Cart page reachable
Opens your cart page read-only. We never place anything in it.
Checkout reachable
Opens your checkout page. An empty basket redirecting back to the cart is normal, and reported as such.
Payment providers visible
Notes which providers appear on your public pages. Without a basket we can show one is present, never that one is missing.

The free check is strictly read-only
Shop owners are right to be wary of a stranger's software touching their store. So the free check does strictly less than a person browsing your site: it reads your public pages and nothing else. It cannot add anything to a basket, because it is not permitted to send the kind of request that would.
That honesty cuts both ways. Because we never create a basket, we can show you that a payment provider is present — but we can never claim one is missing. Where we cannot tell, we say so.
- Only standard GET and HEAD requests are ever sent to your shop.
- We never click add-to-cart, never submit a form and never start a purchase.
- No basket, order or customer account is created — the counts are reported with every result.
- We identify ourselves in your access log as Vendrail-PassiveCheck, with a contact URL.
- The full cart-walking monitor runs only on shops whose owner has verified them.
- If our engine cannot run, you get a visible error — never a made-up result.

Does the free check touch my shop at all?+
It reads your public pages and nothing more. Only GET and HEAD requests are sent, so no basket, order or account can be created. Every result shows the counts, including baskets created: zero.
What platforms are supported?+
The free read-only check works on any shop, and automatically recognises Shopify and WooCommerce. Continuous cart-walking monitoring supports WooCommerce and Shopify.
Do I have to install anything?+
Not for the free check — it only needs your web address. Continuous monitoring does require you to prove the shop is yours by placing a verification token on it, because we will not walk a basket on a shop we cannot confirm you own.
Will Vendrail ever submit an order or charge a card?+
No. The paid monitor walks the basket for verified shops but stops before the place-order button — it only confirms that button is visible and enabled. The free check never gets near a basket in the first place.
How often do checks run?+
Daily on Starter, every 4 hours on Growth, hourly on Pro, and every 30 minutes on Scale.
Will this pollute my analytics?+
We block common analytics and tag scripts during the check, and identify ourselves with a Vendrail-PassiveCheck user agent plus an X-Vendrail-Monitor header, so you can exclude us from logs and reports.
What if my checkout breaks at 3 AM?+
You get an email with a screenshot of the failing step — so you know exactly what broke and can fix it before your next customer visits.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Cancel anytime from your account and you keep access until the end of the billing period. No questions asked.
